Standard deduction amounts for 2025 have been inflation-adjusted and are higher than they were last year. Joint filers get $30,000, plus $1,600 for each spouse age 65 or older. The amount for single filers is $15,000 and increases to $17,000 if age 65 or up. Head of household filers get $22,500 plus $2,000 more once they reach 65. Blind people receive $1,600 more ($2,000 if unmarried and not a surviving spouse).
